Bible and Bike
July 6th - July 12th
Consider joining us July 6th - July 12th for one of our favorite Community of Hope traditions: our annual Bible and Bike. We will be riding 185 miles through one of America’s best bike trails, the C&O Towpath Trail, which begins in Cumberland, Maryland and leads us right into the heart of Washington, DC. Our Bible time will consist of personal prayer and Bible reading in the morning along with group discussion later in the day.
Basic Info:
WHO CAN GO?
Anyone 14 years or older who can ride a bike around 45 miles a day.
WHEN IS THE TRIP?
Sunday, July 6th at 2 PM — Saturday, July 12th
WHAT IS THE ITINERARY?
Sunday 7/6: Meet at Community of Hope at 2:00pm (after 2nd service), drive to Cumberland, MD. Stay at the Fairfield Inn.
Monday 7/7: Ride about 40 miles to Little Orleans. Camp at the Fifteen Mile Creek Reservation.
Tuesday 7/8: Ride about 40 miles to Williams Port. Stay at Red Roof Inn .
Wednesday 7/9: Ride about 40 miles to Harpers Ferry, WV. Stay at the Harper's Ferry Town’s Inn.
Thursday 7/10: Ride about 40 miles to Swains Lock. Camp at Swain's Lock #21.
Friday 7/11: Ride into Washington D.C, have a free day in the city, and take the 4:00 PM Amtrak train back to Cumberland, MD. Stay at the Fairfield Inn.
Saturday 7/12: Depart from Cumberland and drive back to Cleveland.
HOW MUCH WILL IT Cost:
The cost for adults who want to share hotel rooms with one roommate on non-camping nights is $451 per/person, which includes all transportation, lodging, and some meals.
The cost for high schoolers and those who want to sleep three to a room on non-camping nights is $353.00 per/person which includes all transportation, lodging, and some meals.
The cost for adults wanting to stay in single hotel rooms on non-camping nights is $746.00, which includes all transportation, lodging, and some meals.
WHAT IF I DON'T WANT TO CAMP?
Our group itinerary and calculated costs include two nights of camping, (Night 2 and Night 5). If you don't want to camp on those nights, you have the option of staying at a nearby BnB/Hotel listed below. You are responsible for making the reservation and handling the payment separately. It's a busy time of year for the trail, so we recommend you call as soon as you're able to secure your reservation!

What about Food?
We will provide one group meal each day that we are riding, and eat one meal out at a restaurant. At some lodging, breakfast is included. We recommend bringing breakfast/snack items such as granola bars, pop tarts, applesauce pouches, instant coffee packets, hot chocolate packets, tea bags, apples, oranges, peanut butter packets, nuts, and trail mix that work well on the trail. We will go over more specifics at our pre-departure meeting.

Fill out the form below and turn in or mail a $100 deposit to Community of Hope Church. Our address is: 4470 Oakes Road, Brecksville, Ohio, 44141.
