Update: Plans for re-open starting june 7
“I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord.” Psalm 122
Dear People of Hope,
It is with both joy and a hint of sadness that I write this letter. I have joy because, Lord willing, Community of Hope is going to start in-person worship again on June 7th for two services at 9:00 am and 10:45 am. Then, the following weekend on June 13, we will add back our Saturday 5:30 pm service! My sadness comes from knowing that things will be different than before. We value your safety and want to take extraordinary precautions to minimize the chance of person-to-person spread of the virus. With this goal in mind, I have listed some of the things that you can expect:
There will be a designated entrance and exit. Our greeters will open the doors for you.
For safety for our children we will not offer separate children's ministry. Children and infants will be with their parents. The nursery and children's wing will not be open.
The seating in the worship area will be diminished and spaced in such a way to ensure physical distancing. You will find family clusters, pairs, and individual seating.
Please practice physical distancing by leaving 3 seats between you and other families.
Please BYOB. (Bring your own bible). We will not have them available in the chairs.
Please BYOC (coffee) because coffee and food serving will not be available.
Please BYOM (mask). This is to minimize the chance of person-to-person spread. Leaving your mask on while singing protects those sitting around you.
We will have a shortened service format that will not include a break during the service.
Please if you are older and immunocompromised, stay home and join us online.
Please, if you have any symptoms or think that you might be coming down with something, stay home and join us online.
We are not going to pass the offering. Instead, there will be a place to drop off your offering.
Please continue to email your prayer requests because we will not have a response card or bulletin.
Our reopening plan is contingent on forming some new teams. If you can help email Pastordoug@cohchurch.com. We are looking for:
Cleaning teams for each service to keep our surfaces and restrooms sanitized.
Ushers to direct people to their open seats in our new seating arrangement.
Greeters to open doors and guide to the correct entrance and exit.
Grace and peace to you all,
Pastor Doug Seletzky
