Worship Services this Weekend (3/21 & 3/22) and Opportunities to Connect
Dear People of Hope,
During these uncertain times, our hope is to pursue connection and fellowship in creative ways.
We are encouraged when we remember that the Church has never been just a building, but rather, a body of people from all tribes, tongues, and nations who love and follow Jesus and are filled with the Holy Spirit to share the Gospel with the world, wherever they may be.
We find comfort in Jesus's promise in Matthew 18:20: "Where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am in their midst." What joy, to realize this promise still stands for us today.
With these truths in mind, here are a few ways to connect and share in fellowship during these uncertain times:
Opportunities for Connection, Encouragement, and Prayer:
1. Weekend Services Online: This coming weekend, (3/21 and 3/22) we will offer two different remote worship service experiences. In lieu of our in-person Saturday night service, we will be posting a pre-recorded Saturday Night service at 5:30 PM for all who desire to "attend." In lieu of our in-person Sunday services, we will be attempting a single live-streamed worship service at 10:45 AM. We will send out access links and instructions to both of these worship experiences later this week.
2. Weekday Small Groups: Starting next week, we will be transitioning most of our existing small groups (and potentially new fellowship groups) to an online video-conferencing platform called Zoom. Each week in the "What's Happening" email, we'll share the schedule of groups meeting that week, along with instructions for how to participate. These groups can be accessed using a smartphone or a computer with webcam/audio functions.
3. Prayer Groups: In addition to small groups, we'll be hosting remote prayer groups called "10 at 10" (a ten min break in your morning to pray). This will be facilitated though zoom See below for the schedule.
4. Children's Ministry: Our hope is to send out a weekly email specifically intended to provide parents with content and resources to nurture your children's spiritual growth at home during this time. We will send our first "KidZone at Home" and "Little Lambs at Home" email this weekend.
How to use Zoom for Small Groups/Prayer Groups:
On smartphone:
1. Download Zoom app on phone
2. During the scheduled meeting time, type in meeting ID listed below in "What's Happening"
On computer: (preferable for small groups, because it gives you the ability to view everyone on screen)
1) During scheduled meeting time, click the meeting's URL listed below in "What's Happening"
OR If that doesn't work:
1. go to www.zoom.us
2. Click "Join meeting"
3. Type in Meeting ID listed below in "What's Happening." Schedual.
